Structural forms and differences of skeleton oil seals
2023/10/27
Practitioners in the hydraulic machinery industry will come into contact with oil seals, which are mechanical components used to seal liquid media (including oil, water, etc.). They isolate the components that need lubrication in the transmission components from the external environment, so that the lubricating oil will not leak.
The commonly used oil seal forms include TC, SC, TB, SB, TA, SA. Many people are not particularly familiar with TF and SF oil seals. Below, we will talk about TC/SC and TF/SF oil seals.
Firstly, these four types of oil seals belong to a type of skeleton oil seal. They all belong to the inner wrapped skeleton oil seal, and their movement mode belongs to the rotary type,
1. TC type
TC type oil seal is the most commonly used form of oil seal in modern industry. TC is a double lip skeleton oil seal with an inner frame wrapped with rubber, and in some places, it is also called a lip seal. T represents the double lip seal, and C represents the outer rubber wrapped. The main lip of the double lip framework oil seal is used to prevent oil, and the secondary lip is used to prevent dust.
2. SC type
The SC type oil seal is a single lip wrapped rubber skeleton oil seal, which lacks a dustproof lip compared to the TC type and is suitable for sealing in dust-free environments.
3. TF type
TF oil seal is not a particularly common type of oil seal in daily sealing equipment, as it belongs to the rubber covered iron shell type oil seal. Generally, the cost of this type of oil seal is much higher than the TC type, and it is more commonly used in corrosive environments. As the carbon steel shell skeleton of the oil seal is not resistant to corrosive environments, it is necessary to use specific corrosion-resistant rubber to cover all the iron shell skeleton of the oil seal to protect the oil seal skeleton, This way, corrosion will not occur. Generally, TF type oil seals are made of fluorine rubber material with stainless steel springs, which can be used for a long time in high temperature and corrosive environments.
4. SF type
The SF type, like the TF type oil seal, is a rubber fully wrapped iron shell skeleton type oil seal. The difference between SF and TF is that SF is a single lip seal suitable for dust-free environments, while TF is a double lip seal that is both dust and oil resistant.

Material classification of O-ring
Natural Rubber is made from rubber latex collected from rubber trees and is a polymer of isoprene. It has good wear resistance, high elasticity, tensile strength, and elongation. It is prone to aging in the air, becomes sticky when exposed to heat, expands and dissolves easily in mineral oil or gasoline, and is alkali resistant but not strong acid resistant· It is a raw material for making tape, hose, and rubber shoes, and is suitable for making shock absorbing parts and products used in liquids containing hydrogen peroxide such as automotive brake oil and ethanol. Complete knowledge of O-ring sealing
The O-ring rubber ring is a circular shape of a circular rubber ring. O-ring is a widely used hydraulic and pneumatic system for sealing. The O-ring has good sealing performance, which can be used for both static and dynamic sealing; Not only can it be used alone, but many basic components of the sealing device can also be combined. It has a wide range of applications, and if the materials are selected correctly, it can meet various media and sports conditions.
