Installation and Use of Silicone Seals

The installation method, form, and category of mechanical seals vary, but the essentials for installation and use are almost the same. Mechanical seals are one of the high-precision and relatively complex mechanical basic components. The installation and usage methods and common precautions are as follows:
1. Assembly of stationary components of mechanical seals:
a. Install the anti rotation pin into the corresponding hole of the sealing end cover;
b. Place the static ring sealing ring on the static ring and install the static ring into the sealing end cover, paying attention to ensuring that the anti rotation pin enters the groove of the static ring. When installing and using the gland, be careful not to cause the static ring to collide with the shaft - the bolts need to be tightened evenly multiple times.
2. Assembly of rotating components of mechanical seals: Assemble the rotating components of mechanical seals one by one onto the shaft in sequence. If there is a shaft sleeve, the rotating components of the mechanical seal should be assembled onto the shaft sleeve in sequence outside, and then the shaft with the rotating components of the mechanical seal should be assembled onto the shaft.
3. Install the end cover on the sealing body and tighten it evenly with screws.
4. Is the turning test easy and free? If it cannot be turned or is difficult, the assembly dimensions and specifications should be checked to see if they are reasonable. Installation method:
(1) Verify the model specifications of the mechanical seals used for installation, whether the specifications are reasonable, accurate, and correct, and whether the components are missing.
(2) Check if there is any damage to the components of the mechanical seal, especially the sealing end faces of the dynamic and static rings. If any damage is found, repair or replace new components. Each sealing component needs to be maintained and cleaned with gasoline or kerosene to ensure that the surface of each component is free of floating ash and impurities.
(3) Is there any burrs or grooves on the surface of the shaft or shaft sleeve, the inner wall of the sealing chamber, and the surface inside the sealing end cover. If burrs or grooves are visible, they should be smoothed and polished, and maintenance and cleaning should be carried out with gasoline or kerosene using a car. Items such as clean and soft gauze or absorbent cotton should be used for wiping. The surface should not be scratched or bumped, in order to facilitate installation. During assembly, oil should be wiped on the surface of the shaft or shaft sleeve, the surface of the gland and sealing ring that match each other, to prevent dry friction from occurring immediately after starting.
